TRADA Membership: (May 2009)

To enhance our growing reputation we have acquired full corporate membership of TRADA. This undoubted benefit to the business will provide our staff with access to a full technical library thus enabling the business to give further technical advise and information to clients.

Botwell Green Project: (May 2009)

The supply and erection of the Glulam beams to the Botwell Green swimming pool project has recently been completed which included the supply of 25mtr glulam beams over the main pool area. The beams were too large to gain access directly onto site and therefore arrangements were made to deliver the long beams at night for offloading from the roadside. CTM organised a full traffic management system along with obtaining all necessary permits from the Local Authority.

Pentland Pool Project: (June 2009)

CTM have just completed the manufacture of Glulam portal frames for the new Pentland swimming pool project in Finchley, North London.

The portals are unusual as they are cut from solid blanks of glulaminated timber into the profile of the “speedo tick” as image shown below. All the profiling and shaping of the frames has been carried out by hand at CTM factory in Barnsley by our skilled team of joiners.

Wood awards 2009 (July 2009)

Hillside Hub has been shortlisted within the structural catagory of the 2009 wood awards.

Erection of the community building was carried out in October 2007 & consisted of a series of varying radii arched frames clad with spruce plywood to create the distinctive 'armadillo' shape. Constructional Timber provided the complete design, supply & erection package for Main Contractor 'Rydon Construction' & Architectural practice 'Edward Cullinan Architects'.
